It can pay well but you’ll spend most of your time looking for work. Many people try to get away with not paying because they think you’ll work for the experience. Don’t fall into this trap. Just build up your portfolio however you can but don’t undervalue your skills. Taking a writing course or two would help. Than just look on line and apply for as many as you can. Don’t quit your day job until you’ve got at lease two years’ experience as a writer though. There is a lot of competition out there!
You may want to check this two forum topics out, lots of small scale copywriting deals go down here, usually on a one on one basis and most pay ya for it.
Lots of what I see people asking for are usually 500 word product reviews, content filler and such.
They could give you some ideas.
just start building a credibility as a writer and copy writing skills first. actually you can brush this skills with no capital like doing article marketing or content writing.
why not pick 5 areas to have passion on it and start gaining knowledge on that area. write article and post it to free article directories and testing whether your writing and copy writing skill has good effect on readers. articles has bio box at the end of it where you put your things and links to invite readers to go.
so if you found out that a lot of reader go to where you want them to go then you are good. i believe internet is a heaven for writer so go for it. be the best writer you can be. but please don’t promote bad stuff with your skills because there are so much already on the internet that we can barely handle. hope that helps. in case you need some info on online biz you can check my profile.
